getting value in dropdown when edit

i have a dropdownlist populated with data from database
when i edit a particular record i want that data stored in the database to be seen in the drop down
now i get the value as per its stored

Do you have SelectedValue='<&#37;# Bind("FieldName") %>' in the code?

I'm not sure what you're saying -- you want it to select/show the value stored in the database, and it's not or it is?
