You can setup a virtual Windows environment.

For that you'll need a copy of Windows and special virtualization software such as e.g.:

    VMware Fusion
    Parallels Desktop 4
    VirtualBox

The latter is free, the other two are commercial applications for which you can download a trial.

Once installed, you can use something like Tredosoft's Multiple IEs software.
Some people prefer installing one instance of Windows to use with one version of IE, so one virtual environment for IE6, one for IE7, and so on.

There is also a service called browsershots dot org that allows you to view it on multiple browsers. Very cool when dealing with the perils of IE6, 7 and ugggh 8

I was wondering if anyone knew of a site that had instructions on how to set up a virtual machine on mac? (for non-computer savvy people)

I tried to install a free VM on my PC but had troubles getting connection to the internet, let alone the wireless connection i currently have between my mac and PC.

From what i have gathered so far i will need to purchase Windows (I'll aim to get XP as I'm still not a fan of Vista). And a Virtual Machine. I saw VMWARE Fusion in a catalogue the other weekend and have seen it mentioned in this forum as a recommended VM to use.

I presume this has come up 100 times already in the forum, but I couldn't find anything in the search.

    Thanks in advance

Also, browsercam dot com (you have to pay though) allows to log in to a machine and actually play with whatever browser you like on whatever box you like. I think you get ten minutes each time to play around. I haven't used it in about 2 years though.
