Love is something that encompasses the capabilities of man. Love to me is something of a need, we need to be loved, and we need to love. We cannot move on this world and walk the path of happiness without loving someone or at least know how to love.

For me love is giving your life for someone unconditionally. But of course, there should be give and take and acceptance for both sides. Simply, loving someone inspite and despite of - now that's the real thing for me.

Opposites attract, yeah. I've found that to be true.

But usually it all goes to hell after the attraction. Painful, black, miserable hell.

    Love is a quale.

It's so hard to describe and explain... and somehow no definition, explanation or description seems to do it any justice. It's just something you have to shut-up and feel (and I know that likely goes against what you think, Datura... but it's what I think).

The saying "Opposites attract" is what I also find to be sometimes true but there's a reason for that. When someone says that and mean a certain couple - where one is, say, a daredevil rock-climber, the other rather stays at home to read a book - they don't consider the real reasons of the attraction but rather just superficial traits. After all, you're not gonna find out what those two think themselves, they might not even be able to explain. But what they fail to see is that in fact, the reader may actually live the daredevil lifestyle through the stories, and therefore admire her partner for what he does. While on the other hand, the daredevil isn't necessarily a dumb monkey and relate to her mind and thinking - which makes them both not so opposite in the end.

The mind, not what a person does or how he lives, not even his character is what matches (despite the fact that all those relate). After all, can you imagine two persons, smart one and dumb sharing lives? If you think you do, one of them may not actually be what he or she seems to be.

If that is the case, it was not love. It was something else you have experienced, like you say: some attraction. Love never makes things dark. True love is an exchange of values. If you do not share the same values with the person you think you love, then things fall apart after the first excitement is gone.

Feelings are established within yourself by the values you have chosen as your own standards for your life. Feelings are a consequence, not a primary. When your values are not consistent, you will run into conflicting feelings and the result will show in relationships that are based in the very same inconsistent values. That will, must lead to the destruction of that relationship that you thought of as being love

I find this a very good observation. The outside appearance of a relationship seeming to be incompatible or opposite, but where it really counts is in the way people think, what and how. The mind is what connects people.

There is the physical attraction of course, but that alone can not carry a relationship for very long, because the physical attraction should really grow from the attraction of the minds. There should not be a devision between mind and body, they are integrated and function as a unit.

What I just said sounds very clinical. I did not go with a checklist in my hand to choose my husband, but it was probably a checklist established in my subconscious (implanted feelings through my values) that relaid to me the information that all the marks were checked to my liking

love is just a word for me., it represents what we feel to a thing., and i find it also a disease., its just a feeling generally made by our brain not by our heart.

Love is not money. I hope you guys will agree with me that Love is what makes the world go round and not the other way around. Love is what makes a person of who he is, of what he is, and how he wishes to pursue or direct his life in this world.
