Hello,
I am a new member, but have known about Sitepoint for years. I just recently learned that the marketplace here is a "go to" place for selling sites, domains, etc.
I have a LOT of domains that I have bought over the years for various projects, mostly related to internet marketing and affiliate stuff, that are now simply dormant and doing nothing for me except wasting my money. (I do have sites and domains I want to keep, just plenty that I no longer wish to pursue.) I want to auction these, and have done a little bit of "domain flipping" through eBay in the past.
I just posted 4 auctions over at eBay last week, for the first time in almost a year. Those are about an hour away from closing, and have only 2 watchers with no bids The last time I did any domain flipping was around June of last year. There seemed to be a LOT more interest in buying domains at that time than there is now, from what I can tell. Probably just another sign of the current economic climate.
I know I could submit them here under a classified, or auction listing, but since I got almost no response at eBay, I am hesitant to pay 10 or more dollars to post them here just to find no one is interested.
Can anybody give me some tips or pointers as to how to proceed? I would post a link to my eBay listings for example sake, but I am sure my post will get shut down if I do that for obvious reasons.
Okay, sounds pretty reasonable. I'll do a search and see what I can find. Thank you.
Anyone else? My listings closed with dismal results. 2 listings didn't sell, the other 2 were picked up in the last hour of the auctions, for .99 and 1.99 respectively....(fell a little short of what I was hoping to get...)
Sedo, Namepros, DNForum and Afternic are good places to sell. More here. I don't believe Sitepoint has that many buyers interested in domains. The preference seems to be for well established websites.
