Blogging for money v. monetizing your blog- are they the same? You can write paid posts, but not have ads on your site. You can also have paid ads without accepting paid reviews. Which do you support on your blog, if any?

Hi, I am also blogging for money as an additional income.

But my niche is achieving financial freedom thru topics on entrepreneurship, investments, personal finance, and self-motivation to achieve those financial goals and retire from work the earliest possible.

My blog's traffic now comes from Search Engines as I have learned some SEO techniques. Also, some traffic comes from forums where I participate in the discussions within my niche. And from commenting from other top blogs on my niche.

Blogging for profit is difficult. You need to garner a consistent following in order to make a considerable income. Also depends on the niche and what your advertisers are paying for clicks.

I am blogging for for making money through blog ads. There are several websites that assign advertisements to be posted on our blog as blog posts.

I need to have a good page rank before I can get such assignments. Once you have traffic and page rank the work is simple and money keeps flowing.

Just check out my advertising page to see how I make money off blogging. Now on the subject of traffic, I mainly use social networks such as StumbleUpon, Digg, sometimes Mixx, Twitter, not-so-much Facebook. Guest posting is one of the most important things I can say will help you long-term.

Best source of traffic would be Search Engine I suppose. Depending on your topic and try to pick out certain favourable keywords and work on them.

All my blogging money comes from adsense and custom ads

I usually depend upon search engines to get traffic and it worked nicely for me.

Just a quick response to the question "why blog if you donīt advertise". Blogs can be a hugely important medium for PR for a business, as it is a way of communicating with customers.

I don't blog for money. But, that's not to say that I couldn't make money from my blog.

If I cared about the money... I'd do it with private ad sales.
