    Crons -> Gantt chart?

    Google isn't helping me on this one, but I was wondering if anyone knows of any script/tool that could take given cronjobs and create a gantt chart?

    We have a number of servers each with a number of cronjobs.. it can sometimes be a little hard to manage and the gantt chart would provide a good overview of what is happening when...

    Hope someone can point me in the right direction!

    The gantt chart can be hard to create, and I haven't seen that many tools out there for it.

    A good place to start would be for you to create a parser for the cron log file ( found in /var/log/cron)
    It will give you the time the cron started and which one started.

    Perhaps an easier implementation is to have all of your cronjobs trigger a mysql date/time - server - task insert at the start and end of the script.

    You can then create a simple PHP gantt like so:
    kiwimanager.com/web/gantt
    using your database to generate the data.

    The DB could also be on a centralized server, and you could call a perl script to insert the date/time - server - task for you.

    Just talking about it is almost making me want to create something

    Ya thanks... I know HOW it would be done, was just hoping something already existed

    Don't currently have the resources to devote to creating this...

    Well you could ask nicely

    What are you looking for? What can I work with?
    Do you like the centralized DB idea and cron triggers?
    Do you need to be able to maintain/improve the code? If yes, then any language should be avoided?
