My site consists of three columns of the same information in different languages. The first column is in Japanese (Kanji and Kana), the second column is romanized Japanese, and the third column is the English translation. I do write these sites with the XHTML 1.0 Strict doctype and would like to assign the xml:lang attributes to the appropriate columns. So according to RFC 3066, the first column's language code is ja and the third, en. But what should the center romanized Japanese column be? I don't think it still counts as Japanese in the sense the language codes are used for. Does anyone know a code that's used for romanized Japanese?
