How should I set this up?
Hi all,
I was recently hired to a company of 3 people that are not technologically-savy at all. On that note, I'm still in college at VT and do not have enough experience to make any firm decisions for what kind of program they would want for these requirements:
Contact database
Online accessible
Password protected
Non-downloadable
Split into categories (e.g. tech, life sciences, pharma)
Searchable by names or categories
Need to be able to cut off client access should they cancel their contract
Preferably only one contacts full details viewable at a time
Preferably iPhone-compatible at some point in the near future
I have the time to learn a programming language if necessary but would rather not if theres a program that can do it. My boss said something similar to ACT! is what they're looking for. If you guys have any suggestions I would highly appreciate it!!
Thanks,
Scott S.

PHP, XHTML, CSS and MySQL
The XHTML & CSS for the layout then PHP & MySQL for the backend. However, this kind of system would take months to set up (correctly). I suggest your boss makes an investment in ACT (or a similar CRM system). My Blog/Site: Full On Design

your requirements aren't really clear but it sounds like a custom version of wordpress with various plugins might get you where you need to go......
