    Probably a dumb question but...

This is probably an incredibly easy and dumb question, but I'm feeling too lazy to go out and find the information myself, so.....

is there something in MySQL that is equivilant to the Stored Proc or the Stored Query in Access? I seem to remember that they didn't exist in older versions of MySQL, but didn't know if they've been added since.

    Remember...

There are no dumb questions, but there are a lot of inquisitive idiots. (Not directed to any present company, I assure you!)

I seem to remember at one point that MySQL was working to include Perl as a programming language, somewhat akin to PL/SQL in Oracle and T-SQL in MSSQLServer. I don't if it went anywhere.

I found a link here (mysql.org) that talks about adding functions to MySQL. I don't know if this is what you had in mind, but it's about as close as I can find.

Thanks for the info. I'll take a close look at that link and see if it's what I was looking for...
