    Open Source PHP CMSs

I was just after a few opinions on some CMSs that I'm considering using. The main ones I'm looking at are Drupal, Mambo, MD-Pro and Xoops.

Have any of you used them before? Would you recommend one over the others or are there any that you'd definitely stay away from?

    Thanks alot for your help

I think MD-Pro is pretty good, I used to use Postnuke a lot and its almost identical. I know a lot of people love Mambo but it was never a cms that worked to well for me, I dont know, there was just something about it. Drupal and Xoops are pretty good. I would probably use MD-Pro though.

There was a thread on this topic not too long ago:

Personally, I prefer Mambo over anything else, mainly because it is so easy to use by non-technical people.

I use mambo. its great, it has a huge community and its the easiest to use (it matters when you are dealing with final users).

Plus there are thousends of projects and developers working on it.

Mambo is the CMS for me.. Xoops is to bloaty hard to manage and customize i did not find it very user friendly.

Mambo 4.5.3 will cover some of it's weaknesses, like patTemplate for all modules and components..
However still no proper ACL i believe Xaraya and EZ-Publish are a bit further on this point, so it will kind of depend on your requirements
