Hi,
I am a new user to RoR and very a very green programmer to boot. I am using the Simply Rails 2 book by Patrick Lenz and I have run into a problem using rake.
I am running ruby 1.8.6 in Ubuntu 8.04 as well as the recommended Mongrel web server and the SQLite3 DB version 3.4.2. I am having trouble running the rake and I am confused as to how to go about solving the problem. I have read various other posts and have still been unable to fix my problem. Has anyone navigated through a similar problem successfully and/or does anyone have any advice as to how to go about correcting this issue? Much Thanks.

After trying to run-> rake db:migrate
"I receive this following error"

chris@chris-laptop:~/shovell$ rake db:migrate
(in /home/chris/shovell)
== CreateStories: migrating ==================================================
-- create_tablestories)
rake aborted!
An error has occurred, all later migrations canceled:

SQLite3::SQLException: table "stories" already exists: CREATE TABLE "stories" ("id" INTEGER PRIMARY KEY AUTOINCREMENT NOT NULL, "name" varchar(255), "link" varchar(255), "created_at" datetime, "updated_at" datetime)

(See full trace by running task with --trace)
"Then I run the trace and here is what I receive"

>> chris@chris-laptop:~/shovell$ rake db:migrate --trace
(in /home/chris/shovell)
** Invoke db:migrate (first_time)
** Invoke environment (first_time)
** Execute environment
** Execute db:migrate
