Since 1st place was shared by Tyssen and Centauri, there is no 2nd place.

that makes no sence!
1st place shared means that both of them get half of the 1st place.

ok, so 1st place shared, and so there is no 2nd place, how can 3rd place be shared if there is no 4th place? xD

~ is the general sibling selector, its like the +, but less specific, as in selects everything underneath it.

It's the CSS3 general sibling combinator and you can see an explanation in the Ultimate reference here.

That's just the way it is When you have a Tie for the top two then them there will be no second place. This makes no difference to the third placed person as they would always be in third place irrespective of how the two above them are placed. The third placed person can't suddenly become second place.

In the olympics 2 gold medals would be awarded to the winners and a bronze to the third place. There would be no silver medal.

You are right there won't be a 4th place as the next one would be fifth

p.s. i like the visually stunning and impossible at first sight ones the most.
ive been following them since #7, and absolutely loved #9, #10, #12.
the ones that don't require pixel perfect work.

Lawlz, the breather isn't for us, it's for poor Paul.

I can see Paul trying to relax in the weekend... but that ankle cuff with the chain attaching him to the computer is chafing. Lawlz.

Heck once CSS3 is supported in modern browsers I have at least a good 3/4 ideas. The original CSS3 quiz I was going to do isn't supported in any browsers so this new one will be...fun .
