need a cheap white label solution

We're looking for a cheap/cheapish web hosting solution - preferably so we can white label it. We dont want our clients going direct. We need a linux server which we can add mysql databases to and simple stats packages and webmail access. The company needs to be within the UK and have good support and reliability. We are looking to host bespoke websites (quite small ones) and wordpress sites. Does anyone recommend any that would suit our purpose? Thankyou.

Does it have to be a Shared Hosting solution? How cheap is cheap? What is the number of sites projected (even though each may be small)? Clear answers to these questions will decide between Shared Hosting and VPS for you. For the most professional presentation a VPS solution with your custom DNS would be the ultimate option. If you do not want the hassle of an unmanaged VPS or find that a managed solution is too expensive, I would suggest a Reseller Hosting plan with custom DNS.

For the big number of web sites I recommend you switch your search to the reseller host and as that will not be used for reselling you can do search for the service without hands on support (that will cut your payments)

Thanks for your comments so far.
Cheap: Less than £500 a year would be good. Ive seen a couple of providers which allow for unlimited domains, mySQL dbs and bandwidth for under £500.
Number of sites: 2 at first! Then maybe up to 20 in the first year. All will be small sites (less than 10 pages with little or no sound or video) with maybe an ecommerce website if we're lucky! Most, if not all, will be running from mySQL dbs.
Im not sure of the difference between shared hosting and VPS. Ideally we'ld have it so that if someone did a 'whois' search then they couldnt tell who we use for hosting - otherwise they would go direct and we'ld have to justify why we're more expensive than the supplier. Is this what you mean by 'custom DNS'? We want to be able to change the name of the IPS tag so the client cant see who we use for hosting.

Maybe the hosting supplier could have a 'privacy' setting which hides details about a domain. Ive seen this before, but does it hide the IPS tag?

Your private name servers (DNS) will provide you exactly that privacy. Most users will not have the knowledge to figure out who the actual host (which is not too hard) and a whois will only provide them their info and your private DNS information.

You can have this both on a VPS and Shared Hosting however given your unfamiliarity with the technology, my recommendation would be a reseller hosting account with private DNS. Also look to find a host with a decent control panel which can significantly reduce the learning curve for you (ie Plesk).

If you want to get your own IPs, bearing your company name, you'll need to get them from ARIN. That's really not necessary though. The vast majority of hosts rent servers from a data center and get their IPs from there. No big issue. As it was said above, most customers won't know/care about all this reselling stuff, and how to track your upstream provider.

I will suggest you to see for a company which offers dedicated IPs for your reseller account ..so that it does not disclose your Identity to your clients.

seeing your requirement I will say go for a company offering cpanel hosting in UK.

Hi, I'm thinking about using www.heartinternet.co.uk . You could try them. You can host unlimited domains and unlimited bandwidth. They have 'generic nameservers', so this would probably mean it would hide your suppliers identity. You can also customize the control panel - Demo: http://hosting.heartinternet.co.uk/index.cgi
