What is a Code Archive?

Hello. Obviously I am brand new to website building. I'm using the book, "Build Your Own Website the Right Way Using HTML and CSS", 2nd edition. On page 31, 2nd paragraph, it says:

"Open your text editor and type the following into a new, empty document (or grab the file from the code archive if you don't feel like typing it out).

I don't know what a "code archive" is, or where the "file" is I need to "grab", or even how to grab it. I am so new at this I'm still dripping wet. Would someone please help???

I guessed I missed that somewhere though I still can't find it. (Frantically flipping through the pages now).

I can see that I'll probably be posting hundreds, (perhaps thousands) of baby web building questions, though I promise to search diligently the other threads before posting.

I recomend against using the code archive if your that new. By typing it all in you will get used to the commands quicker and understand it better.

Plus you will make mistakes in the code that everyone makes and fixing it help you to start understanding what causes certain errors.

I agree. Even though it's slow and laborious, I need to do it in order to begin to understand this task which I am undertaking. I'm so ignorant about website building that it's not even funny (though I laugh anyway!)

Turtlelover, I know heaps less than the other guys who've replied to you but I recommend validating your HTML at every stage, easiest if you have FF's web developer add-on. The CSS has to be too but I don't find it as problematic. Good luck.

Still good practise though, dotn get into bad habits that later your going to regret.
