help with "tell a friend" script/code

    Hi,

I am fairly new to php and html but i know the basics. I am trying to make a tell a friend page for my website.

I would like it to have a few inputs:
i would like 10 email address fields, sender email, sender name, plus a "i confirm i read terms etc"
I also want it to send a fixed html page as the email...so i can control what is being "told"

i know this seems a lot, but if anyone can help me i'd be forever indebted (because i have no idea where to start)!

I'm also not sure whether to utilise my smtp or use sendmail??

    Regards

    Rob

It's not an easy task... you'll need to connect with an API to get the job done.
    Check out openinviter.com

Download the API / SDK, then modify the example.php file to suit your needs.

hyderalamgir was suggesting that you use a third-party API to do this (in this case, openinviter.com)... it's a good idea. Utilizing public APIs is a great way to save time and work. No need to reinvent the wheel.

Go check out the website for instructions... I've never used openinviter, but it looks pretty cool.

Start by learning how to send emails with php. Using a mailing library like swiftmailer will save you some trouble, and almost surely work better(and potentially be more resilient against people exploiting the script).

Then its just a matter of sending the email to multiple users. You can send a single email with each email address in the BCC field, or just send a seperate email to each.
