Question Same Domain Registrar, different hosting server.

Dear Team, I hope you would guide me to solve this urgent issue. My clients site is hosted in rediff along with domain registration in rediff. Now I am facing an issue and need to change the hosting service along to Net4. I am confused on how to start with. The domain booking is done till 2012. So i need the domain registrar to remain rediff and the hosting service to be provided by Net4. Kindly treat this urgent and suggest a solution to solve this.

The web host will provide you with their nameservers (ex: ns1.net4.com, ns2.net4.com). Log in to your registrar's website, and change the nameservers to those of the new host.

    to add one more thing
first - create new hosting account and host the domain
    then - get nameservers
    and change it in registrant

Just do what Dan said, most people don't register their domains and host their sites at the same place.

Too much power for one place if you ask me.

Thanks for all your support. As per one of the technical persons suggestion, I logged in to the Domain Control Panel of Rediff and changed the " A record " to point the Net4 hosting server ip and now the site appears fine. But does this cause any issue in the future ?

All should point to the your new web host. FYI: name servers changing might take up to 72 hours worldwide. That is not instant process.

Yes for now. But permanent solution would be changing the name server. As of now only A record is alone changed. Next year i might face problem in paying for 2 hosting services till i change the name server from rediff to net4
