    manipulate lerge xml file

    I have a 180 MB xml file and I want to input the values at a mysql database, what is the best option to do this with java, is Java a good choice?

    I think only feasible way to do is to use SAX parser. Java does support SAX but I'm sure many other language support it too.

    StAX XML parsers will be better then SAX. Usually they are faster and has more user-friendly API.

    try using VTD-XML. it is good in performance and better than the other XML API's

    Not sure what xml lib to chose. But creating a small consol java, or simple swing java application that reads the file, and input to a database with either plain jdbc or spring jdbc is ok.

    Have done something similar before.
