Hiya,
What do you call it when you can for example: add {userID} inside a PM, and the person's name automatically gets added upon sending?
What do you call the {UserID}? - Is it a name space?![]()

{UserID} === UserID surrounded by curly braces?
String replacement, maybe.
I would call that a 'token'.
Maybe a macro or a placeholder?

I'd also go with placeholder.

I generally call them tags or placeholders, tags more frequently.

I'd call it a variable.
After much deliberating, I'm going with Token.![]()
