Meaningful statistics from my coupon download page?

    Hey guys...

Still working on this coupon download page. The most recent thread (barring this one) was my request for a good way to track what each user is downloading. I've got that in place but now I've a dilemna.

What sort of statistics can I glean from this? How would I build a tool that can pull meaningful results from my data? Below is a sample of what I'm storing:

    Code:
    userID dateaccessed file
    223590205 5/9/2002 9:43:29 AM	18
    341590205 5/9/2002 9:43:10 AM	12
    1179590205	5/9/2002 9:44:40 AM	6
    1179590205	5/9/2002 9:45:23 AM	9
    1179590205	5/9/2002 9:45:34 AM	11
    4510590205	5/9/2002 9:42:02 AM	2
    6536590205	5/9/2002 9:52:08 AM	14
    6536590205	5/9/2002 9:52:21 AM	33
    6536590205	5/9/2002 9:52:27 AM	1
    6536590205	5/9/2002 9:53:40 AM	1
    6536590205	5/9/2002 9:53:49 AM	4
The two main results sets will be:

-= An average of how many coupons each user downloads in a session.

-= Relating downloads to downloads...what groups of coupons do users download together?

I'm working on the way to do this myself, but input would be great. Especially from some of you that might have taken statistics in uni. I've got data. Now I just need to know what to do with it.

I'm going to try and write my own queries but I'm wondering what sort of information I can get out of this data.

    Here's a few things:

    - Time when downloads are highest and lowest
    - Number of downloads per day/week/hour/minute
    - Most/least popular coupon
    - If you store the country of the user you can find out which country uses the system most

Is country a variable that I can expect to get automatically? I mean is it a CGI or public variable?

You can get it from the IP address. What I was thinking is if you had a user table you could match the user id with their country to get some stats

i see the SQL count function in your future creole....

your gonna want to do things like:
SELECT COUNT(file) AS filecount FROM table
    WHERE file = 18

when you output filecount, it'll tell you how many times file 18 has been recorded (for instance).
