WordPress Theme help needed
I downloaded Disciple 1.15 theme for my blog on my sever. I was able to apply the theme, but when I want to make some changes to it WordPress doesn't save my edits. I click "update file" button on the Theme Editor page and see that all my changes are gone and there is a default setting again. Does anyone knows what it can be?
Just me or the WordPress?
Thank you in advancewww.LatteMaestro.com

I took a look at the theme's files and didn't see anything that should interfere with them being edited (eg. the theme doesn't set any options).
I edit my files offline and FTP upload them so I'm not familliar with editing files from inside the WordPress ACP. It seems that if there was something wrong, WordPress should give some kind of error message as an indication. But maybe not. I'm guessing the reason is either your theme files don't have write permission or you're seeing a cached version for some reason.Big Change Coming Soon - if you want your PMs save them now!

Thank you for your response. I cleared the cache. Can you please tell me more about the file permission? If i should change them ( now they all have 666) should I change the folder , the particular file?
Are you editing your files through the FTP? I can try that.www.LatteMaestro.com

I have had no problems with these permissions:
Theme folder = 755
7 = read, write and execute
5 = read and execute
Theme files = 644
6 = read and write
4 = read
I keep both backup and development copies on my computer. The backup copies for reference and in case I mess things up big time. And the development copies for my modified versions. Then I log into FTP and upload the files as needed. It seems odd that WordPress would have problems with the file editing, but as I said, I've never tried it so I personally don't know. I do know I've never had problems with FTP yet so I have no reason to do it differently. A word of caution. Take care when you edit the files that you both edit and save as plain text. Use something like Notepad and not Word, since "fancy" text editors can mess things up in small ways that can be a big pain to figure out.Big Change Coming Soon - if you want your PMs save them now!
