    That's AJAX, Could be replicated with CSS but the page would refresh

    Ajax is out of my realm, sorry.

    The example you provided is pure HTML and JavaScript, there is no PHP required.

    jQuery have some demonstrations of this on their site, or additionally; have a pop along to the JavaScript forum, and please, be a little bit more descriptive.
