Linking to an affiliate redirect URL via a form

    Hi folks

I'm in the process of setting up an affiliate site, whereby I get commission for sendin leads / appointments to the merchants.

Rather than simply sending visitors to the merchant's web site (where I may lose the lead because I don't get paid for telephone conversions) I'm trying to mimic a form from the merchant site and placing my affiliate ID on the form script.

For whatever reason, presumably because a series of redirects between my site and the merchant, it isn't working and I get a message suggesting that none of the fields have been filled in.

Any idea what I can do about this?

    Thanks!

First of all, we need code that you've tried.

Second of all, are you sure this isn't in violation of the terms between you (the affiliate), and the merchant?

    This is it:

    http://double-glazing.at/FinerHome?C...sion?src=buyat

It's not a violation of T&C's - I've specifically agreed it with the affiliate agency and the merchant is happy for me to do it.

I wasn't asking for proof.. just seeing if you were aware.

You still need to post some code for us to look at.

Apologies simshaun, didn't intend for my reply to read so abruptly - was just trying to confirm that it's all kosher.

I'm not sure what you need to see code-wise (<--bit of a novice!), how's this?

    Code:
    <form method="post" action="http://double-glazing.at/FinerHome?CTY=37&LID=freequote&DURL=http://www.weatherseal.co.uk/contact/contact-index/QuoteSubmission?src=buyat" id="request-quote-form">

So you want this form submitted with data from your site?

I've just had a little wander over to the form, and I have a question or two.

Does the user HAVE to visit their site, or can you submit their details for them and hold them on your site?

Secondly, I noticed the site places a cookie or two upon submitting the form, is this integral to your commission?

I'm not bothered if the user remains on my site or hits the merchant site; the only two considerations I need to take into account are:

    - At some point, cookies must be dropped by following a URL with my aff ID, i.e. http://double-glazing.at/FinerHome?C...sion?src=buyat

    - The successful form completion must take place from the end user's IP address

Thanks for taking the time to try to help...

...and there's the problem I think, the cookies we could handle, but if the actual visitor has to submit the form, as far as I know it's not going to be possible.

Sorry, afraid so, unless someone else can think of anything.
