    Exporting SQL Server to MySQL

    Hi,

We have a site that is on a Windows/SQL server and we want to move the site to our main Linux/MySQL server with our other sites. We are converting the site from ASP/SQL to PHP/MySQL.

What's the best way to export the data from the SQL database so that we can import it into our MySQL database? Is there a way to export the data within SQL server so that it can be imported into a MySQL database?

I've tried several 3rd party applications to do this, but none of them worked.

    Thanks!

There is a free tool that will import the SQL server dump into MySQL:

    mysql has the migration toolkit.

also, if you right-click on the database in microsoft's sql management tool, you can generate a creation script, which you can hand-edit to make the table definitions mysql-compatible.
