    How to build a database?

    Hello,
    I need help since I am not a programmer or a computer technician. I bought a php scripts but no database yet; How I can go and make a database by using phpMyadmin. I was trying to do it but can not go to it. Thank you for the best explanation.

    Do you have direct access to the mysql dbms? If you have phpmyadmin, you must've configured it at some point to the db.

    You can drop in some syntax, the minimum is just..

    CREATE DATABASE FOO;

    Or you can import the .sql file which was given to you.. but usually its just connecting the info of the dbms ( login, pass, server ) to the php app and it auto configures it.

    Hello soul scratch, no i dont have phpMyadmin. I dont know how i can get it. try to go to the site but cannot get the way to make it

    Then go into the command line
    >> mysql -u root -p
    and type the password you setup mysql with
    >> create database foo;
    >> use foo;

    I went to make it but it takes me time cause i forgot the password and after i reinstall it and so i have done what you said and i dont know what to do after. but anyway thank you for your time

    So you installed the mysql program, and logged in with the password, and created the database?

    If so, well then.. what php scripts did you get?
