Facebook Home News Feed

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know how the Facebook home news feed works. I.E. are all feed items taken straight out of a database with a single query or multiple querys or are they taken from XML.

I am trying to create the same sort of functionality and can't see how it would work with a single query?

Any ideas will be great.

I would imagine they are created with a single query and then cached in some form.

I'm no SQL expert, but I would imagine there are very few occasions when you cannot obtain all your target data in a single, well built query.
