Not sure what I need for this...any ideas?

    Hi,

I'm building a new website and am not sure quite how to develop it.
Let's just say that the site is based on users entering their tips and tricks, either anonymously or through login. They just enter their text and it's publicly displayed. There'll be other parts to the site, maybe a blog and maybe a Best Of section, but that I can handle, I think.

The idea is relatively simple, and I want a simple tool to maintain it...
I myself am familiar with Blogger/WordPress, but not sure they can handle this...could it even be done through a blogging platform? How would users post their thoughts, especially if there's no login (still not sure I want a login).

    What do you think?

I would use PHP for this. I am not sure if wordpress allows comments unless they are logged in.

Wordpress can allow comments for registered and non-registered users (defiined in the admin). You can also allow users to create posts that you can moderate before they show on the site.

Users can actually post posts in Wordpress? I understand the comments issue, but was unaware that users can post. Is there a way that these posts can be automatically displayed, without my moderating them (but obviously with the ability to remove if necessary)? Anyone have a link or resource so I can check it out?

You can set up a variety of user levels with word press, but you would need to be careful with moderating.

I am building a site with a simillar concept, (in a very different market) and I am using PHP Links directory to start with, because that allows users to post articles.
