Probably slow servers. I was on a cheap US VDS server until recently. Server was so slow, Wordpress was slow, Drupal almost unuasable. Now on a faster UK server. Lovely.
You get what you pay for with hosting. Pay more, get more.My site: My Extension

Wordpress can be slowed down with too many poorly written plugins running, which can overload the database. But a basic core installation with a few plugins should not slow a good server.

There's not much we can do to help without seeing the URL, knowing the database query time and knowing what plugins you are using. There are many, many different factors which can influence load time.
If it is a bog standard WordPress install, then it is probably just a server speed issue like jonbey suggested.
The standard way to speed things up is to use a caching plugin such as WP Super Cache, however caching won't help at all if it isn't a problem with the time WordPress is taking to process the script.

Maybe your host is not very good. Can I ask which hosting company do you host it with? Or do you host your WP blog on a free host? If yes, that's not good and that's slowing you down - freehosts have problems with the databases.

Your site loaded in under a second for me.
I can't see anything majorly wrong with it.

your problem could be: badly coded plugins, your server, large size images, tracking service or ads you are running and loading from other servers.
you would need to go step by step and eliminate possible problem makers.
I'd start with plugins and ads, since it wouldn't take too long to remove them and test if your site is loading any faster.
