    I had my content management system working before, it never put in \ before the " etc on the user output and now it is.

    Just do this in your code to turn magic quotes OFF from all GET, POST, and cookie data.

    set_magic_quotes_runtime(0);

    Thanks Quinn - I will keep that in mind if I need that any time soon

    Great thanks to Kevin too - for actually getting the script to work for me

    It just turned out that I had the addslashes() function on and a few other bugs...

    I resolved this problem with Matt on ICQ. In addition to removing his extraneous addslashes() (which had the same effect as your suggestion above, and solved the main problem), he had a couple of syntax errors that needed fixing.
