I don't know if your location status means that you're actually banned or not. Regardless, it's not that hard to be put in contention for an award. Hell, I'm not even at 600 posts, yet there were members that valued my posts enough to nominate me for an award. AFAIK if a member is banned, their user title under their user name will be "non-member". But I can't recall having seen that for quite some time now, so things may have changed.
you're right; it would be Non-Member (directly under the username)
