feature table with zebra jquery effect

I've got a table that will display the features of 4 software suites.

I've styled the table using CSS and have striped it using the Zebra style like http://15daysofjquery.com/examples/z.../demoFinal.php

However, I've used a gif in place of text and the issue I have is the transparency on the gif.

On the blue bg there's a white fuzz around the tick, I know I can change this using the matte function in PS when saving for web but then the issue is repeated on the hover and alternate states.

Is there a good way to do this?

You can use one of the following options
    • Use png images that have a proper transparancy
    • Change the images for each state, using a sliding-doors technique
    • Not use images on the table
