How to get users browsers to refresh page

I have revised the heading on my webpage, but the original stayed in cache. Not a problem for me individually, because I know the page changed and reloaded it.

My problem is, the users out there that have bookmarked the site don't know it's changed. And therefore, don't know to refresh the cache for the site. I put a turkey icon on the site for Thanksgiving in the heading of every page. And have now removed it. But I'm afraid it's still showing up, until the browser reloads. So most the users still see the turkey.

There is not much you can do about that unfortunately. You could trace the IP of each visitor and bribe the ISP to give you their address and write to them. But that would be very silly.

I wouldn't worry about it...the cache will eventually get cleared.

Unfortunatley there's not much you can do to get people to update their bookmark links folder. In fact, many of them don't even use (or look at) their bookmarks so it's probably not even an issue to begin with.
