Do you mean that you had your web host register the domain for you?

Was it registered in your name, or theirs? (If theirs, then there's not much you can do about it to prove ownership).

Also, I wouldn't trust a host that registers your domain in *their* name..that's just giving them a free domain name while you're hosting with them..and when you change hosts..well..they could try to hold onto the name since there's no way to prove that you ever owned it..

I have checked the WHOIS record and it shows:
    WHOIS information for daweb.org:

Welcome to the VeriSign Registrar WHOIS Server.

The IP address from which you have visited the VeriSign Registrar WHOIS
database is contained within a list of IP addresses that may have failed
to abide by VeriSign's WHOIS policy. Failure to abide by this policy can
adversely impact our systems and servers, preventing the processing of
    other WHOIS requests.

Command line whois, works much better.

Admin, Billing and Technical all show as registered to mevershosting.nl. I think you're in trouble, unless this host is willing to work with you.

    You naughty girl Nicky!

Yes I agree with Sparkie, make sure you are the contact and first port of call so to speak on any domains you will administer.

Did your hosts host you for free and give you he domain? If so Im not surprised that they have retained the domain.

Have they refused to give it to you?

Can you be more specific on the situation?

    difficult

They are doing difficult. They don't want to give the domain back. Because we had a deal, but now I want to be more secure and buy the domain.

Daweb.org is officially not mine, but if I weren't their, mevershosting didn't buy the domain.

We're still agosiating (talking about it), but they don't like it.
