Method to avoid window pop blocker

Hi,

I'm using the following code to open a new window when clicking on a link but the window pop blockers seem to always block the new window that I'm try to open.

I'll appreciate if someone could suggest or provide a link where I can read more about a method to use to avoid window pop blockers.

That has to deal with your internet firewall I believe.

You can't and shouldn't circumvent pop-up blockers. They're there for a reason. Besides, I am yet to see a legitimate reason to use pop-ups.

You can open a new window in JavaScript if you want.

And it wont get blocked.

You're right, in that case I would have to odd more code or what could done to try to go around of it

You can't open a popup in my browser no matter what you do. My browser is set to open new sites in a new tab and new pages from an existing sites in the current tab which is the way I want it and fortunately there is nothing any web page owner can do about it because it is MY browser and works the way I want it to and I say NO popups allowed so that's what it does.

Everyone else can configure their browser to work the way they want and ignore your popup requests as well. You can only open a popup if the person visiting your site allows it.

Actually, it shows just the opposite.

The user can choose to turn javascript off, for a start. A savvy user can disable javascript on particular pages but not on other pages.

Even if you find a way (you won't) someone will then write a browser purposely to defeat that way. The user has a computer at his disposal, wheras all you have is a web page. The match is unequal and you will always lose.

As I said I have my browser set to use tabs in the current window for all new page requests so what you want is completely ignored and the page opens the way I want. I never see popup windows EVER regardless of the code because my browser either blocks them or converts them into opening in the existing tab or a new tab depending on what is most appropriate.

It doesn't matter what code you use, you can NEVER open a popup in my browser because I told it not to let you.
