Its not necessarily a bad thing that you cant get music on the page

Yes, I have heard this a thousand times. My wife would like it however. Are any of you married?
The site is www.TheInquisitiveEye.com
Have a short snippet of bach that I want to play...can someone suggest the code?

well the file you are trying to load is a wma and will most likely only play in the Windows Media player. See if you can locate a midi file of the piece.
This wont work

Should work.Code:<META NAME="keywords" content="Fay Stout, french love affair, Nature, Travel, Butterfly, France, Food, Photography"> </head> <body> <embed src="yourmusic.mid"> <noembed> <bgsound src="bach.mid"> </noembed>

Didn't work... Why can't I use BGSOUND SRC?

You know...
Just forget it.

All browsers but Safari (and probably chrome) support <object> for sound. Safari needs <embed>.
It's a Bad Idea, but if you want to, that should get you started in the right direction.
<BGSOUND> has never worked in any browser except IE, IIRC. It has *never* been part of the HTML spec.

I would never add music to your page that starts automatically. Nothing creates as much of a bad user experience. A user should have the option of hearing music by choice.

Yes, but as he stated, his wife wants it and as married folks know, that's all that matters. Personally, I would opt for the MIDI file, as WMAs will cause issues with people not using WindowsMediaPlayer. Also, keep in mind that if your wife's site is going to be popular / commercial in any way, using copyrighted music is a great way to make some new friends at the legal department of the RIAA. Another option would be to add a flash player for MP3 files, try http://flash-mp3-player.net/ I've used that for several smaller projects with decent results.
