    word press - wp admin

    Hi,
We have no experience of word press. A client wants to move their site over to us. Its been done in word press and allows the client to update each page on their site, add new pages etc... Am I right in saying that this is fairly easy to transfer over to us? If I setup soem linux hosting space and do a sql dump of their existing database and import it onto the new mysql db, then it shoudl all still work ok shouldnt it?
We dont want to take the site over and find out we cant support it.
    thanks.

The client may have features/plugins enabled which may require specific features to be enabled with Apache, etc. such as mod_rewrite, curl, etc. You need to speak with the client and get an understanding of if and how the Wordpress instance may have been customized. If it has not been customized, then the answer would be "yes, it is a simple transfer". If not, then you may have to do some prep work before the actual move to ensure that the transfer is seemless.

I also strongly recommend a mock transfer prior to the actual one.
