    Could not have put it better myself Centauri.

    You could do it all with CSS using :hover but you would need to write a small Javascript workaround for IE. In my opinion it is worth it, I would rather a have a fully standards compliant XHTML and CSS file and have a menu that works in 100% of good browsers with a small hack for IE than have a static menu. If IE users dont have JS enabled then tough they wont be able to see the menu however you should always use the

    tags to display anything that can't be seen while using the menu without JS enabled.
