    Inline Tabbed Navigation Window

    Hi,

I have been using php for a while but have never used javascript before. I want to do something like the "Job, Cars, Homes, Dating" inline menu window that you can see here on the upper right below the search box:

I presume you would do something like this with javascript? Can anyone point me in the direction of a tutorial to do something like this or even some open source code to do it?

    Thanks

You could use JQuery to create a tabbed window like that. It is really easy.

    http://docs.jquery.com/UI/Tabs

and you can easily customize the look of it.

I used it on a site we just built for a salon in London that wanted to sell gift certificates for multiple locations (the locations are tabbed)
    http://www.ginaconway.co.uk/cart/gifts.php

the text in the tabs is an unordered list, and the info is just in DIVs with IDs (so all of the content is on one page and not dynamically generated Javascript making it easier to code)

    hope it helps.

Cheers, just been looking into the UI/Tabs. Can someone check the example part of this page:

    http://docs.jquery.com/UI/Tabs

It's about 1/5 the way down. When i checked it the other day it was showing the example as it should but now it seems to be missing the styling. Is it the same on your browser? I have tried it on Firefox and IE and checked that i still have javascript running on both!!

    Thanks

It seems that the ui.core.js and ui.tabs.js files can't be found at the moment.
