    Over-used Motifs in Logo Design

Seems like the web is rife with logos containing the same ol' uninspired motifs, over and over again:

    • Arrows
    • Puzzle Pieces
    • Stars
    • Abstract human figures

What are some logo motifs you feel are over-used to the point of being completely generic?

Earth globe, spirals... letter A without horizontal line... rooftops for realty related logos...

Absolute No. 1 for me would be all the swooshes - they're generic, overused, foolishly applied...
And with the 2.0 logo styling: the floor reflection effect and stickers/orbs/buttons.

What I'd like to know is who decided that the reflection should be a staple in the 2.0 logo design in the first place? It's enough with the bad domain names (the ones that most 2.0 sites seem to have), but we also have to see a reflection in every logo too.

(Ok, short rant done. I'm cleansed.)

gears/clogs and yes especially the "orbs" with a letter kind of wrapped around it... overused... yes... do i like them?... also yes... actually i dont mind the use of abstract human shapes, trouble is, there are soooo many that are "abstracted" exactly the same way(the swooshy ones)... kinda takes the abstractedness out of it... year 3012 imagine the human race walking around in that shape lol

A motif mirrored or rotated around an axis. (Doesn't mean it's always bad though.)
