    Coded Preview- Online service

    Hello everyone,

I noticed a member on another board using a service called: Coded Preview.

The site describes itself as : a handy little app for web designers and coders. It allows you to create simple HTML preview pages, showing what a template should look like when coded. Coded Preview can also be used to create splash pages.

My main question is: Is this a good way to show clients designs before coding them?

If you have a website you could probably throw it up on your own server in the same amount of time it would take to fill out this form.

Personally I would choose to host my work on my own server as opposed to this service. I haven't tried it. Does it allow you to take it back down once you have put it up? Might be nice to remain in control.

But, if you don't have a place to host this might work.

I would say no also. That tool lacks flexibility and a designer should have their own server and template resources anyway.

Put a mock up your own server first. this tool adds little value, and might confuse your client (and your staff!)

Hi guys, I'm actually the owner of the site.

I just wanted to let you know, since this thread was created, the site was relaunched and has a load of new features, including letting you download the code in a zip file and not host it on our server, for those of you that wish to host it yourself.

There are a bunch of new tools that offer more flexibility. If you want more flexibility than that, use the contact form to make some suggestions.

    Thanks.
