Coldfusion, SQL Server 2005, and dates

I'm having some issues with coldfusion inputing dates into my db. I'm using sql 2005 with coldfusion 8. When I goto enter a date either as string (11/30/2008 09:30:45) or with the getDate() function it drops the time and enters 12:00:00 when done through coldfusion. If I run the same query in the SQL Server Enterpise manager it enters the date perfectly, with the correct time.

Has anyone ever encountered this problem or have any suggestions on a course of actino to correct it?

Are you using createOBDCdateTime in coldfusion? This is the best way to work with dates and sql server. http://www.cfquickdocs.com/cf8/#CreateODBCDateTime
