    What's this?

    Found these selector and declaration in some page and I can't figure out what they do:

    {display: block;}

    {display: inline;}

    What's display? and what does block and inline do? what other values can be used for this declaration?

    yeah, you could say I'm a bit obsessive . I'm building my personal site and I'm going at css with only the 0'reilly pocket reference (looking for the definitive guide to css my Eric Meyer but the local bookstore ran out of copies) a a guide and whatever I read on the net. And of course the great help I get from the people here
