Logo Design

Hi all,

I have started the redesign of a website called <snip>, but this time I would like I logo to go with the site for various uses, but where to start? Where people get inspiration for a logo? Has anybody got any idea I could steal?

For some reason my mind went to Spinal Tap, except with an amp that goes even further, up to 13
