I want to get knowledge about any CMS. Please tell me any simple and effective CMS.
Which is better Joomla, Drupal or pligg? I have lot of heard about these.

There is no simple answer to your question. You ened to define what you want to do with the CMS, what level of programming and customization you want to do, etc.

My suggestion is to do your own research (try googling drupal vs joomla) and go from there. We can't do the work for you.

I am using both Joomla and Drupal not sure about pligg maybe will try it next week if will find a time.

Joomla is great if you are looking for quick solution. A lot of templates and modules available. Only not all modules are compatible with every tamplate but you can find solution anyway.

Drupal is perfect for bigger websites. Great content and user management. Also content categorization is awesome. SEO friendly out of the box.

What to choose depends of what type of website you are going to create and what is you priority: commerce, design, user management, content management or something else. First you must to find out this and than to look for a solution.

The best way to find out is to try all of them. It will take a time but you will be sure about your decision.

Joomla is my choice !!. I liked it so much that all the websites I develop are joomla based. Give it a try.

I use wordpress for CMS setups of small websites.

There's no way around trying a few to see which fits your purpose best. Anyway, Joomla and Drupal are good choices if you are looking for full-featured, highly customizable packages with a few Web 2.0 features thrown in.

Few people said it. There is no best CMS. Only CMS that suits your situation perfectly. I can't install Joomla for my clients because they have clue how to use it and templates are complicated to play with.

Personally I don't think so as it was originally created for blogging, not as a CMS. I know a lot of people do use it for that and swear by it but I don't find it all that easy for use as a CMS and I prefer http://www.websitebaker.org.

For a truly simple and small website without the bells and whistles I think WordPress is a handy solution, especially if a blog will be attached. That being said, there are a ton of great CMS solutions (as mentioned in previous posts to this thread) that can do the same thing. It's really a matter of personal preference.

Modx very good for any site with a few extras and allows for easy customization
Drupal has steep learning curve and meant for larger sites
Joomla easy to use and large community
Magento for ecommerce
