Hi everyone.. I've been lurking for a while but this is my first time posting:

I'm wondering if there are any problems with using JavaScript's document.writeln inside tables.

I remember hearing something about a problem in older browsers; if anyone knows, it'd be helpful.

    Thanks

It has nothing to do with older browsers but instead with the version of Javascript installed.

The way document.write and document.writeln changed between Version 1.1 and 1.2. In the newer versions of Javascript, document.write/ln doesn't implicitly close the document after writing which can cause problems in Netscape. Older versions do close the document implicitly after closing.

I believe danz was actually referring to this issue, which is alive and well in current Netscape browsers:

A fix for the infamous document.write() bug at Builder.com
