    ...from cgi.elitehost.com?

I just cannot get it to install for the life of me.

I have tried the absolute path to the directories and everything else I can think of, to no avail.

The scripts come as .pl files and have even tried renaming them to .cgi

The admin script works fine but the main one just refuses. Constantly getting internal server error 500.

When I view the server error log it says error 500 653. Does anyone know what the 653 part means or has any other ideas. It will be very much appreciated.

    Regards,

    Hi Keith,

I have used subscribe me from cgi.elitehost.com for a site of one of my clients and I didn't have any problem.

I renamed the extension from .pl to .cgi Make sure you chmod to 755

    Hope this helps.

Well, I tried to install that script on my site a while back and i couldn't get it to work at all like it was supposed to and I'm pretty good at installing scripts.

One question though.. do you know if the password or .htaccess file has to be world writeable? because if so, that _could_ be a security risk.

As dumb as it sounds: did you upload in ASCII mode? There must be a mistake somewhere-or-other...

Chris, I did upload in ASCII mode and CHMODed them correctly but it still wont work. I have managed to get every other script I've ever tried to install working but this one has elluded me.
