    Cold Fusion and Another Site's Cookies

    In Cold Fusion, is it possible to read a cookie set by another site? I need to transfer information by cookie bettween two sites... one in cold fusion and the other in php.

    Is this possible... and if not... is it possible in PHP?

    you should be able to do this as long as the domains for the two sites and the cookies are the same.

    otherwise no. it would be very very bad if you could do that.

    a form or url variable is probably your best bet.

    I'm not sure if the <cfcookie> tag can read a cookie set in PHP. There is a good chance it can, just check like this:

    All you need to know is the name of the cookie.

    <cfif isdefined("cookie.expectedname")>
    <!--- It exists and can be read! --->
    <cfset myvar=cookie.expectedname>
    <cfelse>
    it does not exist
    </cfif>

    Failing that, you can use JScript to read the cookie for sure...

    you can read cookies across languages, but not across domains.
