    Stock Photography: Difficulties

    Hi Everyone,

I am looking for stock photography for a page about porterage ona removals website.

I am looking to find an image with porters wearing the long brown workcoats (seen on the Space page of this website: http://www.truthaboutsmart.co.uk/) but can't find out what they are called.

I think dust coats, but searches for that don't reveal anything.

Does anyone here know what these coats are called? Been looking all over Stock Xpert and iStock but no luck!

    Any help be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

That's a hard one :-) I would also have said 'dust coat', but as you know, not much out there under those keywords...

    What about:
    http://www.fotolia.com/search?k=conc...rder=relevance
    using 'concierge' as the keyword...

I also tried "uniform', but that only revealed mostly chef uniforms...

    Hi Nadia,

It is hard >.< This particular page is causing me a big headache!!

I saw those bellboy photos but they aren't really what I am after as the service is more removals related porterage - if that makes any sense!

Is it just me or does finding reasonably priced/accurate stock photography a nightmare for everyone else too?

No, you're not alone - it certainly does get hard, particularly if you want to find something that isn't 'overused'.

Do you know of this link: http://www.everystockphoto.com/
A search engine that checks out quite a few of the stock images sites, saves you having to go from one site to another....

You could rent a similar coat from a costume store. Use a digital camera and a friend and take your own pictures.

A search of istockphoto with the word porter shows up a lot of hotel employee pictures but nothing like your example.

    You beat me to it!
And you can take a lot of images, in exactly the sort of poses you need.

Good idea and then onsell them to one of the image sites.... :-D
