Best CMS for multi-author blog / magazine

    Hi All,

I'm currently developing a new multi-user blog for a professional client looking to feature multiple authors with individual avatars per post. It doesn't seem to difficult and most likely is feasible with any blogging platform - my question more so then is, which one does it the best, natively and with the easiest to configure backend?

The site they would like to emulate is here:
    w w w. dominomag.com /daily/ blogs/ dailydose

(ideally allowing for users to login with their own id's and have their posts automatically include there avatar upon post submission.)

any advice will be greatly appreciated, i'm leaning towards a custom wordpress install, but if someone out there's gone down this road before, i'd love to know what worked for you.

    Thanks ahead of time

    T.

I'll throw in Expression Engine for you to look at, here's a couple of sites that use it...

    http://www.gearlive.com/

Wordpress, Moveable Type, and Drupal should be able to handle such as site as well.

    Thanks for the input -

EE seems like the way to go - is there any reason in your opinion why i should go with EE over say, wordpress for this?

    Hi,

Expression Engine will give you loads more flexibility. Related entries, multi-relationships, custom entry statuses, etc.

Expression Engines greatest asset is that it has a lot of tightly integrated, well executed add ons. So in the future if you need a well integrated forum, its available and ready to go. Other programs end up being a dead end or a huge development problem if you get to the point you want to expand site functionality outside of your core paradigm (in your case blogs).
