    suggest photoshop effects

    i am finally going to put my picture on orkut ....suggest me tips....Lol

    i dont look good ....but a little bit of photshop effects can help....i like the "about the author" picture given at sitepoint...

    Perhaps just go with classic black and white.. with a bit of 'noise' or 'grain' for a vintage effect. Note: To achieve the best results, look around at other examples first

    You can also find various techniques online for improving portraits in a "glamour" way - mostly an airbrushing technique using layers and Gaussian blur, as well as methods for whitening the eyes and teeth. If you want to look for a book, Scott Kelby's Photoshop (insert version here) for Digital Photographers covers these techniques and others (non-portrait as well).

    I can suggest you to try ColorBalance, Curves and Levels, this helps me a lot to improve colors in shadows and lights...

    photshop effects do not make photos look good, it just makes you seem like a bad photographer that you must resort to something like it. Do you see effects filters in say fashion magazines?
