Photoshop cs3

I have cs3 on windows xp.I can not find this option"Filter→Convert for Smart Filters" any help is greatly appreciated.

It is available dependant on your image mode. Go Image > Mode to change.

did not work,it says RGB.I am following a tutorial,i have the same settings,somehow that option is not there not even grayed out,does not exist.

Maybe the Menu Set is set to other then "Photoshop Default". Go to Edit -> Menus... and choose Photoshop Default.

Menu For:Appliocation Menus

still does not show that option on the Menu.
